For quite a long time I have been thinking about a long term photographic project that I could work on. The usual 365 project doesn't hold interest for me, though. So I decided to make an attempt to photograph 210 bands in year 2010. Is it even possible? We will see..

The subject of my project will be concert and promotional photography, plus studio/rehearsal documentary of bands from Oslo and Akershus (mostly rock and metal bands, but I am open for other genres too). I am also thinking about organizing photo mixers in the studio with many bands at the same time, which could be a bit different approach to photographing musicians. 210 bands in 2010 project is both an exercise for me as a photographer and hopefully useful action to promote and document local music scene. At the end of the project I am planning to publish a book with selection of best pictures and organize quite a big exhibition.

This project will surely use a lot of time, so I cannot photograph everyone for free, but I will offer promotional photo shoots and documentaries for ridiculously small fees. Plus I do have a number of free photo shoots to offer, so be quick, first come first serve. This is mostly to help starting out bands to get high quality pictures they normally couldn't afford. Though this project is not only for newcomers, all bands are welcome.
